Who are we?

Message From Our Pastor

Hello! Thank you for visiting our website. I am glad you did. Hopefully reading these words will be a start to a great relationship.

I wanted to let you know a few things about us before you come. First, we are a warm and welcoming body. Because we are a small church, when someone new walks through the door, we recognize you. I don't want to go as far as guaranteeing we will recognize you as new, but there is a very good chance. And after you have been spotted as new, you should be greeted by several people. And be sure and stop by our information booth for a welcome packet.

Secondly, we worship with a full band. We love to worship here. God is the reason for all of this and not us. So, we take every opportunity to worship Him. We feel like a full band that is louder than our voices helps us focus on Him and not the people around us. Focusing on God is the whole idea behind our worship. If we are only thinking of ourselves, or the things going on around us, then we are not worshiping, we are singing to the person in front of us. We want to block it all out and worship with our whole hearts.

Third, we preach the word. I try my best to not say anything from the pulpit that cannot be backed up by scripture. The Bible is the guiding force behind all that is spoken. It is the authority and not me. And I try to mix in a bit of lighthearted fun as well. The Bible can be serious about our sin, much more so than we are about our sin, so when we have to hear hard truths, it nice to laugh a bit as well.

Finally, we want to connect with you. We have Sunday school, small groups, and other gatherings to which you are certainly invited. We believe the best way to get the most out of church is to connect with the church. Remember, we the people are the church. Not the building we meet in. So as you come and hang out with us, get connected with us and start sharing your life. The best friends you will ever have in this world will be people who know you and go through everything with you. Start investing now. And if you would like to get in touch with me, click here and I'll get back with you.

I hope to see you soon.

What We Believe

We believe in the life-changing power of Jesus Christ and hold to God’s Word as the foundation of our faith and daily living.”

God is the Father of all Creation and the Ruler of the universe. There is one God who is eternally co-existent and co-equal in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. — Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

He was born through a virgin named Mary. Jesus lived a sinless life and gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sin and disobedience of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to show His power over sin and death. He went to be with His Father God in Heaven´s glory and will one day return again to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords. — Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

Along with God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son, the Holy Spirit completes the Trinity and is equal with the Father and the Son. He is in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ for Salvation. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The power to live the Christian life is after the same manner as that found in the book of Acts. — 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

Man was created in the image of God. Jesus, His Son, chose ordinary human beings to be His followers, and to be like Him in character. Man is the main object of God’s love. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is damaged by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude and choice separates man from God. — Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2

The Bible is the written word of God to all men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the perfect source of truth and an unfailing guide for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspired it, it is without error. — Heb 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

Salvation is a gift from God to man through Jesus. Man cannot be saved or make it to heaven in his own strength or good works. He can only receive the gift of heaven by trusting in Jesus Christ as God´s offer of forgiveness. This and only this, pays the penalty of death that man deserves due to his brokenness and sin. This change is called new birth. The gift of eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. — Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1; II Cor 5:17; John 3:5-7; Gal 2:20

Because man was created in God’s image, he was designed to live forever. He will either live, forever separated from God by sin (this is called hell), or he will live, forever in perfect union with God through forgiveness and salvation (which is called heaven). Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence. — John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46

Because God gives man the gift of eternal life through Jesus, we are secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is kept and maintained by God’s grace and His power, not by the works and/or efforts of the Christian. — John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

We believe that it is the will of God to continually grow in the our Faith. We are to work out our salvation with “fear and trembling”. In other words, we are to take the Christian life seriously and work hard to grow and mature. We cannot “add” to our salvation, but we can “add” to our maturity. This also includes walking in the Spirit continually. — Heb 6:1; Eph 4:30-32

We believe that upon the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit lives in the believer and that the Holy Spirit has many gifts to release through us in ministry and daily life. We have been “gifted” to serve. We should show spiritual fruit as evidence of a Spirit-filled life. Everything we do should be done with moderation and balance. — Phil 4:5; I Cor 12:1-11; Gal 5:22-23; Rom 12:6-8; Eph 4:11-12

We believe according the model of Jesus, that baptism by immersion, in water, is an outward sign of the inward work of salvation. The Lord’s Supper, or communion, is an outward expression of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus through the symbolic use of the bread and the juice of the vine. We participate to remember what Christ did for us. — Matt 28:19; I Cor 11:28

We believe in “belonging” and connecting in community with the local church of Christ. — Acts 16:5; Heb 10:5; Heb 10:24-25
