Testimony

I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior at the young age of 7.  I learned early in life that I was a sinner, and that I needed a savior to reconcile my unpayable debt to God.  It was easy to see that what Christ did on the cross was for me, and that his death and ressurection was necessary for me to have fellowship with God.  I grew up in a "normal" life, doing what other kids did.  It was apparent that I did not place God anywhere near the top of my priorities throughout my teens and early twenties.  But God laid it on my heart that I needed to focus more on Him.  After hearing the old hymn "This is My Father's World", it dawned on me that I had better get in touch with God and His plans for my life, as He was in control!  I re-dedicated myself to Him and haved since attempted to lead a life that would be pleasing to him.  Life has not become any easier for me, but the peace I have, knowing that God is in control, gives me the comfort I need to carry on.  Its good to know that God loves and cares for me no matter what I have done, or will do, to offend him.

i like mostly anything.  currently digging choral music...but...i also like Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, Fernando Ortega (awesome guy), Rich Mullins, 80's music, swing, big band....etc, etc.

I dont read too much...trying to get into it.

Interests

Leading people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by being a living testimony of God's grace in my life.  Oh, I like basketball and football also.

About Me

I married my high school sweetheart Kara Hurst in 1994.  We have five children!  Anna, Abby, Evan, Emma, and Avry We are excited to be apart of Elston Family Church.  I love to see the excitement and vision that Pastor Randy has for God's people, and look forward to being apart of that vision! about me...hmmmm.  NOT PERFECT!  that should sum it up!....I am just thankful that God loved me enough to save me, eventhough I am FAR from deserving a relationship with a holy God.  Now I have an opportunity to be used of God however he sees fit.  Thanks be to God!
